metXplorer processes meteorological and environmental data and makes them accessible interactively. Products include weather and air-quality forecasts, meteograms and ensemble analysis, pressure diagrams, station observations, Pandonia measurements, radiosondes, nowcast, satellite imagery, webcams, personal dashboards and map drawings. The service supports information, education and informed discussion of weather and the environment.

Data processing, validity and use

Visualisations use external provider, measurement-network and model data together with our processing steps. These may include selection, combination, interpolation, unit conversion, temporal aggregation, statistical analysis and visualisation. Derived values and smoothed maps can differ from original observations. Ensemble ranges describe modelled uncertainty; they do not guarantee that an event will fall within those limits.

No guarantee is given that the free general information is complete, accurate, current, continuously available or suitable for a particular purpose. Measurement errors, transmission failures, quality limitations, processing or display errors and delays are possible. Forecasts may change. A fetch timestamp, stored image or cache hit does not verify the capture time or current weather. Always consider the accompanying source, model-run, validity and quality information.

metXplorer does not replace official warnings, professional weather advice, aviation weather documentation, avalanche bulletins or safety-critical measurements and decision systems. Consult the competent official agencies and suitable current original sources before decisions that affect safety, property or financial interests. Personal map drawings are user annotations, not official analyses.

Liability notice

The data and forecast limitations explain the informational nature of the service. They do not create a blanket exclusion of statutory compensation claims. Statutory liability rules apply. Mandatory consumer rights, liability for personal injury, intentional or grossly negligent damage and any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected. This notice does not override specifically guaranteed services or individual agreements.

Use of artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence may assist development, processing or editorial preparation of individual content. Where AI generates or materially changes displayed content, the affected product or article is labelled “AI-assisted” or “AI-generated”, identifying the relevant processing step. Programming assistance is distinct from AI generation of weather data. A label does not make a visualisation official or error-free.

Providers and applicable terms are identified on the relevant data product, map, image or webcam. Display on metXplorer does not grant additional rights to data or images. Reuse must comply with the relevant licence and attribution requirements and identify modifications where required. Statutorily permitted uses remain unaffected. Third-party websites and cameras are operated by their respective providers. Please report unlawful content or incorrect attribution to the contact above; substantiated reports will be reviewed.
